ELARD's 1st Council Meeting

On the 24th of November the members of ELARD met in Brussels on the occasion of the 1st ELARD Council Meeting.

Members from the Finnish, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Hungarian,Irish, Czech, Wallonian and Greek Networks were present alongside the new member of ELARD LAG Medgidia. In addition, a  representative from  the Fisheries Network FARNET was invited to join the event and present their organisation.

Some of the main issues discussed during the Council focused around the bottlenecks faced by ELARD's members in the implementation of LEADER during the current programming period, the future of LEADER, DG Regio's Cohesion Policy and the forthcoming launch of a new Thematic Working Group by the European Network for Rural Development (ENRD).

 The Meeting was chaired by the President of ELARD, Mr. Panagiotis Patras.
