Second Croatian Rural Parliament

20 April 2017 - 22 April 2017

SECOND CROATIAN RURAL PARLIAMENT
Integral development through cooperation
20 - 22 April 2017, Sveti Martin na Muri | MEĐIMURJE region

At the Rural Parliament, the inhabitants of rural areas have an opportunity to
influence rural development policies and their implementation, as well as to
strengthen ties and partnerships.

The goal of the national rural parliament is to hear and consider the voice of rural
communities.

The Rural Parliament model initiated in Croatia involves active participation of the
rural stakeholders over the course of several days, through different participatory
models: thematic workshops, world café/rural café method, round tables with
decision-makers, presenting good practices and active experience exchange.

The topic of the Second Croatian Rural Parliament is the question of cooperation as
a prerequisite for integral development. Cooperation here implies cooperation
among rural community stakeholders, cooperation with the public administration
and the business sector, interdisciplinary cooperation, primarily with research and
academic communities and cooperated sharing of experiences as well as learning
from good practices.
