Description (brief history)

“The Malopolska Network of LAGs” was set up on 20th of January 2009 by 10 LAGs in Malopolska region as a formal structure - the union of associations (the most of LAGs in Poland are associations due to Polish law). It was registered by the court on 23rd of March 2009.
The Network was set up as an informal structure in June of 2007. There was 28 members in October of 2008. There is 24 members now but a number of ones are ever-growing (new members need now a formal decision of their general assemblies)


Activities

Counseling, training and information (bulletins, website) for members. Promotion and help to set up new LAGs. Lobbing for good regulations. Cooperation with regional authorities. Help to find partners for common projects. Search for partners for common projects among other regional networks.


Organization Rules

The highest authority is the General Assembly – it decide about the most important issues (also about to be a member of other organizations). All members are represented and have one vote. Other authorities are Managing Board (on-going management, 5 persons) and Search Commission (controlling body, 3 persons).

Aims – Objectives

Aim of Network is activity for development of rural areas and their inhabitants, support and popularization of sustainable development of rural areas, development of civic society, development of knowledge-based economy, building of partnership and dialogue for sustainable development of rural areas and activization of local societies on rural areas
