Description (brief history)
The National Network of Local Action Groups was established non-formally in 2006, then as an association with legal status in April 11, 2007. From the beginning a smaller group of LAGs were active in preparing the network, mostly those who were more successful in first LEADER schemes in the Czech Republic. As both promotion of networking and opening of the LEADER scheme were strong, in last year the number of members increased. Today there are 108 members LAGs and in some of 13 regions of the Czech Republic the regional forums were established.
Activities
NS MAS ČR is active mainly in communication: organizing two national meetings each year – conference of LAGs and Rural conference together with governmental and non-governmental bodies. NS MAS has been active during preparation of the Czech EAFRD program, and established a working group focused on development the conditions of the program. The public exhibition of the achievments of the LAGs used to take place at the "LeaderFEST" in May and at the exhibition "¨Country-Breadwinner" each summer in late August.

Aims & Objectives
Aims of the association are to network LAGs into representative body for communication with representatives, promote good practice and LEADER attitude or method in a regional development, to communicate with financial, regional, political and national bodies, to share information to both member and non-member LAGs, to connect Czech LAGs with international organizations and movements.
